Police are appealing for information after an 18 year old woman was sexually assaulted in a park in Preston.

In the early hours of Friday morning, the teenager was making her way home through Moor Park in the direction of Preston North End football ground.

A man appeared from the bushes and grabbed the woman by her arms, forcing her to the ground. He attempted to lift up her t shirt, but the woman fought back and she was able to escape his hold.

The man is described as pale skinned, 20 to 30 years old, around six feet tall, stocky build and wearing a dark hooded top, dark track suit bottoms and dark training shoes.

Detective Inspector Dave McKenna said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the young woman and we need to find the person responsible.

“If anybody was in the area at the time and saw anybody acting suspiciously or a man matching the description then I would ask them to contact police.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
