A library in the east of Preston will close its doors during a period of refurbishment.
Ribbleton Library, which was built in 1954, will have extensive rennovation work later this year.
The works will create a community area and allow the building to store more books.
Local residents feel the library needs a lick of paint, and are proud of its garden which are currently vying for a Britain in Bloom Award.
