Drinkers at The Continental’s 6th Beer Festival will be treated to a host of live music acts on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May, in a outdoor marquee in the beer garden – along with over 100 beers from the UK’s breweries and around the world,  food stalls and more.

Alt-folk act Dan Haywood’s New Hawks are the event’s overall headliners, taking the stage after a varied roster of acts. Also topping the bill are Lancaster’s The Lovely Eggs, who’ve recently enjoyed radio coverage on BBC Radio 1 and 6Music, as well as rabid endorsements from Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq. Other acts playing on the Saturday include local acts Andy McKinney, The Three:Four and Cocoshackle, which includes members of The Jackpot Golden Boys.

Friday night sees a more punky perspective on things with a host of rowdy local acts supporting a high profile act (to be revealed shortly). 1.21 Gigawatts, False Flag, Somos Muchos, and This Dirty Swamp are other bands that are confirmed for the evening.

The Continental have again laid on a wide range of beers – summery specials such as Cheeky Kriek and Raspberry Blonde from Yorkshire’s Saltaire brewery. For fans of dark beers, there’s a new 6% dark mild from Manchester’s Marble brewery, Alice Porter from Brewdog and festival favourite Chocolate Marble. There’ll also be two brand new American style IPAs from Thornbridge and up to thirty different varieties of cider and perry.

Overall the festival sees a huge range of over 100 beers and ciders from the UK’s finest craft producers, and a range of extra-special rarely seen beers from the Frankonian area of Germany. Resident expert Klaus will be on hand to guide drinkers though the range on offer.
