PNE are now 11 points off safety and although they have a game in hand on Crystal Palace they need to go on a run of wins if they are to stay in the Championship.

North End have a good recent record against the top six, they have drawn with QPR, Nottingham Forest and Norwich in the past month.

The last time the two sides met North End came from 4-1 down to win 6-4.

This game promises goals too, PNE haven’t kept a clean sheet for 14 games and the 35 games Leeds have played this season have produced 124 goals.

The Lilywhites may struggle to field a full team tonight, Nathan Ellington, David Gray, Barry Nicholson and Leon Cort are all major doubts while Sean St. Ledger and Billy Jones picked up knocks against Norwich.

Andy Lonergan and Craig Morgan were suffering with gastric flu at the weekend and may miss out again.

Leeds have no new injury concerns and Barry Bannan on loan from Aston Villa could make his debut.

Follow minute-by-minute updates from Deepdale, with our PNE man Andrew Smith, from 7.30pm:
