Seven Tips For Christmas Family Fun in Preston

Stuck for things to do with the kids over Christmas? Don’t fear, we have the lowdown on what’s on over the festive period.

Saturday 18th December – No Christmas would be complete without a trip to the panto. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves runs at the Charter Theatre from 7th Dec – Sun 2nd Jan. Preston Musical Comedy Society present Aladdin at Preston Playhouse Sat 18th Dec & Sunday 19th Dec at 1pm & 5pm.

Monday 20th December – DIY Christmas Decorations at Avenham Park Pavilion. 1-3pm. Go along to make a card, festive wreath and a Christmas tree decoration from natural materials. £2 per person. Booking essential.

Tuesday 21st December – Yule Tide Decorations at Moor Park. Meet at the Rangers Pavilion. 1-3pm. Create festive decorations with natural materials and lots of glitter. £2 per person. Booking essential.

Friday 24th December – Burn off some of that pre-Christmas excitement with a trip to the pool. Fulwood Leisure Centre is open until 12 noon.

Sunday 26th December – If you haven’t had your festive film fix get down to the cinema to catch Jack Black in Gulliver’s Travels.

Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th DecemberThe Continental is holding a two day festive family festival. At 1pm both days the world’s wisest old gnome arrives to tell traditional tales suitable for 4-11 year olds in Thurtinkle’s Christmas Cracker. £5. At 2-6pm both days there is the chance for children to learn some fabulous circus skills with face painting between 2-3pm and 5-6pm. And at 7pm there will be family cinema, £3.50 entry.

Friday 31st December – Planning to see the New Year in whilst the kids are tucked up in bed? Spend the day at an indoor play area, try Mister Magees, Rascals or Giddy kids (contact first to check closing times). Alternatively West View Leisure Centre is open until 3pm, with a soft play area and a pool the children should be kept well entertained.
