Blog Preston has been running for nearly 12 months and in that time has put out hundreds of posts about goings-on in Preston, Lancashire.
AdvertisementWe’ve covered disputes over swimming pools in Penwortham, what’s going on with the Flag Market and a brand new arts festival that hit the city centre over the summer.
Unfortunately, I am leaving Preston very soon to take up a new job in Cardiff with Media Wales. This means I won’t be able to carry on with Blog Preston – but rather than leave it to wither and die I’d like to see someone take it on.
You’d need to write stuff, put pictures up, find other people to write stuff. You basically write about anything and everything Preston, that’s our only news agenda. If it’s a Preston person, event, history, information, review, then it goes in.
You don’t need to be a technical person, you don’t need to be a trained journalist. All you need is a desire to get involved in your local community, the ability to meet and chat with lots of different people and to keep your finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the city.
If you’re interested, drop an email to ed@blogpreston.co.uk and we can have a chat.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank anyone who has ever read this blog, to those who have followed on twitter and supported our progress since January 2009. Thank you to anyone who has ever written a guest post, send in a photo or dropped us an email. Just getting emails saying ‘thanks, I love your blog!’ made it all worthwhile.
Blog Preston started out just as an idea and has quickly grown to be an established site, with over 2,000 unique visitors a month. I would really like to see it keep going, so if you are interested email ed@blogpreston.co.uk and I can give you more information.
Thank you everyone for their support during the last 11 months.
