Preston held its first ever Tweetup in March 2009, and it was captured on video.
AdvertisementThere’s four parts showing how twitter users in Preston came together and came up with ideas for how the web and social media could be used for the Preston Guild in 2012.
The event started with an introduction by Ed Walker, the organiser of Preston Tweetup and then everyone broke off into groups and came up with their ideas before one person in each group presented back. The people there were generally very tech savvy Preston people, but it was also attended by a couple of local councillors.
The results of the ideas from the night were fed into a wiki and passed on to Preston City Council.
